Companies manufacturing advanced driver assistance systems


There are a number of companies that make advanced driver assistance systems.




Wabco Holdings
WABCO is a Belgian company based out of Brussels. 2013 sales were $2.7 billion. They are a global supplier of technologies and control systems for the safety and efficiency of commercial vehicles. Nearly 150 years old, WABCO delivers mechanical, mechatronic and electronic technologies for braking, stability and transmission automation systems supplied to the world’s leading commercial truck, bus and trailer manufacturers.

Mobileye NV:
Mobileye N.V. engages in designing and developing software and related technologies for camera-based advanced driver assistance systems. The company offers software algorithms and EyeQ chips that perform detailed interpretations of the visual field to anticipate possible collisions with other vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, animals, debris, and other obstacles; and detect roadway markings, such as lanes, road boundaries, barriers, and related items, as well as identify and read traffic signs and traffic lights. Mobileye N.V. is headquartered in Jerusalem, Israel.

Delphi Automotive Systems, LLC (privately held)
Delphi's Collision Mitigation System (CMS) uses unique data fusion algorithms that combine the input from radar and vision sensors to enhance safety system functionality. The system consists of a camera, sophisticated vision control module and multimode electronically scanning radar.

Robert Bosch GmbH (privately held)
Active safety systems such as the Antilock Braking System ABS, the Traction Control System TCS or the Electronic Stability Program ESP® intervene before a crash occurs.  Based on intelligent sensor technology, driver assistance systems constantly monitor the vehicle surroundings as well as the driving behaviour to detect potentially dangerous situations at an early stage.

TRW Automotive Holdings Corp.,
TRW Automotive is an automotive supplier. Its products include integrated vehicle control and driver assist systems, braking systems, steering systems, suspension systems, occupant safety systems (seat belts and airbags), electronics, engine components, fastening systems and aftermarket replacement parts and services. TRW’s experimental steering wheel features vibrating motor notifying drivers of impending accidents.

Developed radar and vision technology to make driving easier and safer by monitoring the environment around the vehicle, giving the active safety systems a chance to adjust engine output, steering or braking to avoid a crash.

HELLA KGaA Hueck & Co.  (privately held)
Manufacturer of the lane change assistant, of which they have sold more than 3 million units, is based on 24-GHz radar sensors. It constantly monitors the area behind the car when passing or changing lanes, and warns the driver about vehicles approaching from the rear or in the next lane over.

Continental AG
Continental AG, commonly known as Continental or Conti, is a leading German automotive manufacturing company specializing in tires, brake systems, automotive safety, powertrain and chassis components, tachographs, and other parts for the automotive and transportation industries.

ZF (founded in 1915) is a German car parts maker and has 122 production companies in 26 countries with 72 643 employees. 2013 sales of EUR 16.8 billion. ZF is among the top 10 companies on the ranking list of the largest automotive suppliers worldwide. Announced a takeover of TRW Automotive Holdings in July.
